Shipping policy

At Zara Cakes, we want to ensure that every order reaches you safely, on time and in perfect condition. The information below explains how our national shipping, local delivery, store collection and bespoke wedding/large cake delivery services operate depending on the products you purchase.

1. National Shipping

We offer nationwide shipping for selected products that travel safely with trusted couriers.

Shippable items typically include:

Cupcakes
Doughnuts
Small or simple cakes
Products specifically marked as “shippable”

* Shipping charges apply and are calculated at checkout.

* Products Not Eligible for National Shipping

The following products cannot be shipped:

Wedding cakes
Multi-tiered cakes
Large, tall, or fragile cakes
Highly decorated or complex designs
Any product marked as non-shippable

If your basket contains even one non-shippable product, the national shipping option will not be shown for the entire order.

2. Local Delivery

Local delivery is available for customers within our designated delivery radius.

Local delivery can be used for:

All shippable products
All wedding cakes
All multi-tiered cakes
Any custom or fragile cake requiring special handling

Local delivery is carried out by our in-house delivery team.

* Local delivery charges apply and are calculated at checkout.

If your delivery postcode is outside our local delivery range, the local delivery option will not appear. Please select Bespoke Delivery at checkout and complete your order.
A member of our team will contact you after payment to arrange delivery details and provide a quote based on your location and requirements.

3. Bespoke Delivery (Wedding, Multi-Tier & Complex Cakes)

* Always Available - Regardless of Postcode

For wedding cakes, multi-tier cakes, and complex cakes, we offer a Bespoke Delivery option that appears at checkout regardless of your location.

Choose this option if:

You are outside the local delivery area
You require venue delivery
You require on-site set-up
Your cake needs special handling or custom arrangements
You prefer Zara Cakes to personally deliver the cake (recommended)

After checkout:

➡ A member of our team will contact you to discuss delivery logistics, including:

Distance
Venue access
Set-up time
Staffing requirements
Delivery time windows

➡ A custom delivery fee is then quoted separately, based on your individual needs.

This method ensures all large or delicate cakes are transported professionally and safely.

4. Store Collection (Click & Collect)

You may collect your order from either of our bakery locations:

The collection date and store location are selected at checkout.

Please ensure you select the correct store location at checkout. Collection is available between 1pm and 3pm at both of our bakery locations.

5. Third-Party Collection Services (Uber, Bolt, Taxi, Couriers, etc.)

You may arrange your own third-party collection.

If using a third-party service:

Collection must occur at the agreed date and time
You must provide the correct collection details to your driver
Drivers should have a flat, clean and level boot space to transport cakes safely

* Zara Cakes accepts no responsibility for any damage once the order leaves our premises, including damage caused during third-party transport.

By choosing this method, the customer accepts full responsibility for the safe transport of the product.

6. Workshops, Parties & Services

Workshops, classes, and party bookings are non-physical services, therefore:

No shipping
No local delivery
No store collection

These items automatically bypass the delivery section at checkout.

7. Mixed Orders

When your basket contains multiple product types:

Shipping + Non-Shippable Product

If any non-shippable product is included (e.g., wedding cakes), the shipping option will not be displayed. This is because these products cannot be transported safely by national couriers, and therefore the entire order becomes non-shippable. If you wish to ship eligible items, we recommend placing them in a separate order so that courier shipping can be offered at checkout
